Founded in 1996, The Society was based in the formerly small town of Magna, UT, which, incidentally, was also the set of several movies including Stephen King's The Stand, another low budget horror flick called "Bats", and five episodes of "Touched by an angel"

The Society for Unopular Nostalgia has a three-and-a-half-fold purpose:
1) The recovery and preservation of 8-track tapes, namely those with Kansas recorded on them
2) The eventual update of my web site
3) Keeping folks informed about low-fi analog recording
